Darren Battersby

Darren graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration majoring in accounting and finance. He was recruited out of university by Ellis Foster and obtained his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1997.

He left public practice in 1999 and throughout his career has held positions from the controller level to CFO of a public company. He has worked in a variety of industries including entertainment, software, bio-tech and beverage, and has predominately worked with small and medium sized companies that are in the start-up and growth phases of their operations. Over the last 15 years, Darren has gained a vast amount of experience in the management and financing of companies.

Darren was raised Princeton, located in the Southern Interior of BC. He re-located to Vernon, BC in 2004 shortly before assuming the role of CFO of OneMove Technologies (OM.V). After leaving OneMove in 2008, he began offering his services as a freelance accountant and corporate advisory services which was the genesis of Finance Matters.
